Upon discovering his keen interest in Arts and Theatre, Serhant decided to attend Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, where he double-majored in English Literature and theatre. He was also a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
According to Serhant, his father, the vice president of State Street Global Advisors, had a significant impact on the man he is today. One summer, under his father’s guidance, Ryan and his younger sibling, Jack, collected wood for $1.50 per hour and sold them to neighbors as firewood. This entrepreneurial engagement taught Serhant the value of hard work and earning money.
In 2006, Ryan Serhant graduated and relocated to New York to launch his acting career. As fate would have it, Ryan landed his first acting gig in 2007 as “Evan Walsh IV ” on “As the World Turns Out.” Sadly, things began to slow down for the renowned realtor and TV personality after this first acting role.
Serhant explored various side hustles, from modeling for companies selling gadgets to bartending to support himself. Finally, Serhant decided to try his hands on Real Estate Broking. Recognizing his passion for trading real properties, Ryan Serhant obtained a Real Estate License and worked to become the executive vice president and managing director of Nest Seekers International.
In 2012, Serhant launched his brokerage team of more than sixty employees from across the country. The Serhant Team specialized in high-end residential sales and worked to canvass new real estate businesses in exciting ways. These included hiring a marching band to portray the effectiveness of apartments’ double-pane windows, throwing an 80s themed party with a DeLorean parked outside to enhance the nostalgia of a home’s decor, staging a magic show, and coining a new NYC neighborhood- SoHo (South of Hudson Yard).
Exceptional deals by The Serhant Team include a sale of Ellie Tahari’s Astor Place Property for $15.5 million, a $30 million sale at 152 Elizabeth Street, and a $17 million condo sale on the Upper East Side. The successful real estate agent and CEO led his team to over $4 billion in total sales.
When Serhant had made a name for himself in the real estate scene, he decided to start his real estate firm called “SERHANT.” Since its inception in September 2020, “SERHANT” has morphed into one of the most relevant real estate companies in the United States. The firm leverages its spectacular social media presence to sell properties such as the $33 million penthouses at ARTE Surfside in Miami and 809 Madison Avenue in New York for $69 million.
